Woman Reported Missing From B.C. Shambhala Music Festival Found Safe
An Ontario woman who disappeared during the Shambhala Music Festival in British Columbia has been found safe, police confirmed on Friday morning.
The 28-year-old paramedic was reported missing after she was last seen in the early morning hours of July 27 at the annual festival held near Salmo in the West Kootenay region.
Search Effort Included Volunteers and Family
Following her disappearance, search and rescue volunteers from Salmo launched an extensive search operation. The woman’s family also travelled from Ontario to British Columbia to assist in the efforts to locate her.
The coordinated search involved local emergency responders, police, and festival organizers working together to find the missing woman.
Family Thanks Community for Support
In a statement released after she was found, the family expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed financially to help cover travel expenses, saying the support played an important role during the search.
They also announced that any remaining donated funds not used for travel will be given to Salmo Search and Rescue in appreciation of the team’s efforts.

According to the family’s statement, the woman is currently receiving medical treatment. They requested privacy as they come to terms with what they described as an emotional and extraordinary outcome.
The family also thanked the Salmo RCMP, the Shambhala Music Festival organizers, and the wider community for their continued support, prayers, and commitment throughout the search.
