62-Year-Old Man Dies After Being Struck by TTC Streetcar in Toronto’s East End: Police
A 62-year-old man has died after being struck by a TTC streetcar in Toronto’s east end, according to Toronto police.
Authorities confirmed the man passed away on Thursday after suffering critical injuries in the collision that occurred the previous week.
Collision Happened Near King Street East
In a news release issued on Friday, the Toronto Police Service said officers responded to a personal injury collision at around 6:30 p.m. on July 31.
The incident took place near the intersection of King Street East and St. Lawrence Street. Police said the pedestrian was walking north on the roadway when he was struck by an eastbound TTC streetcar travelling along King Street East.
Victim Later Died in Hospital
Emergency responders transported the injured man to hospital with life-threatening injuries immediately after the collision.
Despite receiving medical treatment, the 62-year-old later died from his injuries on Thursday.
Investigation Underway
Toronto Police Traffic Services is continuing to investigate the fatal collision. Authorities have not released additional details as the investigation remains ongoing.
