Large Police Presence Reported at Mississauga Home
Peel Regional Police are asking the public to stay away from an area in east Mississauga as officers respond to a person in crisis at a residential property.
The situation was still ongoing late Tuesday afternoon, with multiple officers at the scene.
Person Contained Inside Residential Unit
Police said the person involved is “contained within a residential unit” on Scottsburg Crescent.
The home is located just north of Burnhamthorpe Road East and west of Dixie Road.
Officers are currently negotiating with the individual.
Large Police Presence Reported
According to Peel police, the call came in at around 1 p.m.
By 5 p.m., a large police presence remained in the area as the situation continued.
Police have not released further details about the circumstances that led to the response.
Public Asked to Avoid the Area
Authorities are urging residents and drivers to avoid Scottsburg Crescent and the surrounding area while officers remain on scene.
No injuries or additional risks to the public have been reported at this time.
