18-Year-Old Toronto Resident Killed in Central Ontario Shooting, Police Say
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have confirmed that the death of an 18-year-old Toronto man following a shooting in central Ontario is now being investigated as a homicide.
The victim, identified as Tryce James, was found with gunshot injuries at an apartment complex in Midland, Ont., on Friday evening.
Victim Pronounced Dead After Hospital Transport
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and transported James to a nearby hospital for treatment. Despite medical efforts, he later died from his injuries.
Authorities have since classified the case as a homicide.
Police Say Incident Was Isolated
Investigators believe the shooting was an isolated event and have stated that there is no ongoing threat to the wider Midland community.
At this time, police have not identified or arrested a suspect in connection with the case.
