35-Year-Old Man Charged in Random Stabbing Near Winnipeg Human Rights Museum, Police Say

A man has been arrested after Winnipeg police investigated what they described as a random stabbing near the Canadian Museum for Human Rights on Saturday evening.

According to police, officers responded to the incident shortly after 6:30 p.m. and quickly began searching for the suspect.

Victim Stabbed While Waiting for Bus

Police said the victim, a man in his 20s, was waiting at a bus stop on Israel Asper Way when an individual suddenly approached and stabbed him without warning.

The injured man was transported to hospital, where he was reported to be in stable condition.

Suspect Located Near The Forks Market

Investigators said the suspect fled the scene immediately after the attack. Officers later located and arrested him in the nearby Forks Market area.

A 35-year-old man has been charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon, and failing to comply with the conditions of a release order.

Police confirmed the accused remained in custody following his arrest.
