Fentanyl and Cocaine Seized as Police Arrest Suspect in Centretown Drug Trafficking Probe
A 47-year-old Ottawa man has been charged after a police investigation into suspected drug trafficking in the city’s Centretown neighbourhood.
According to the Ottawa Police Service, the accused faces three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possessing proceeds of crime. The charges were announced in a news release issued on Tuesday.
Drugs, Cash and Other Items Seized
During the arrest, officers recovered several items believed to be connected to drug trafficking. The seizure included:
- 21.9 grams of crack cocaine
- 11.5 grams of fentanyl
- 103 hydromorphone pills
- One digital scale
- Two cell phones
- $1,275 in cash
Police say the seized items will form part of the ongoing case.
Investigation Began After Community Complaints
The investigation was launched after Ottawa police received multiple complaints from residents regarding suspected drug-related activity in the Cooper Street area of Centretown.
Authorities responded to the concerns, leading to the investigation and subsequent arrest.
